Developed with and for education abroad staff in your region, Regional Seminars bring The Forum to you for an affordable and convenient way to gather with colleagues. This curated programming is designed to help you tackle the most pressing challenges facing education abroad professionals today.

At these one-day, hands-on professional development events, participants will gain best practices from experts in the field that work alongside them in their region. By the end of the day, participants can expect to be able to immediately implement strategies to tackle the issues and challenges they are facing in their everyday work.

Hosting a Regional Seminar offers a unique opportunity to showcase your organization while supporting education abroad professionals in your region. As a host, you’ll play a key role in shaping the event, including joining the planning committee, suggesting speakers, and highlighting regional expertise.

Regional Seminar Proposal FAQs

What is considered a “region”?
A region refers to an area with shared demographics, cultural contexts, and professional realities. For example, our Regional Seminar in Atlanta focused on the Southeast United States, while the Barcelona Regional Seminar served the country of Spain.

What financial contributions are required as a host?
There is no mandatory financial contribution if hosts can provide space and services in kind. At a minimum, we ask hosts to provide space for 80-100 people for the day of the seminar and a staff contact to collaborate with our team in planning and preparation for the event. Please complete the form below to indicate any additional contributions your organization can provide.

If we host a Regional Seminar, am I required to participate as a speaker?
Not at all! We value your input in identifying and building a speaker list that aligns with the seminar’s goals and audience. This can include representatives from the host organization, but it is not a requirement.

What qualities are you looking for in a host for a Regional Seminar?
We are seeking hosts in regions where The Forum has not hosted a recent event. Our goal is to make professional development opportunities more accessible to education abroad professionals worldwide. Ideal hosts are collaborative and enthusiastic about fostering meaningful conversations in their region.
